Patna, July 8 (NationPress) Following the death of Vikas Kumar, alias Raja, a suspect in the Khemka murder case during a police encounter, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has alleged that individuals associated with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav were "involved" in the crime.
The murder of businessman Gopal Khemka last week has led to increased scrutiny of the Nitish Kumar government by opposition parties, who are questioning the state's law and order situation.
In a post on the social media platform X, Union Minister Manjhi stated: "Criminal incidents do not imply that we should surrender governance to malevolent forces out of fear."
He further remarked, contrasting the previous Lalu Prasad Yadav administration with the current NDA regime, saying, "This is not the Bihar where mafia activities were orchestrated from the Chief Minister's residence. This is a new Bihar, where criminals face justice. If I speak on this, they will say I talk too much. The shooter implicated in the Khemka murder has proven that Tejashwi Yadav's associates are involved in nearly every criminal incident."
On Monday, Patna Police apprehended Umesh Yadav, the primary shooter in the Khemka murder case.
Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, criticized Tejashwi Yadav, pointing out that after every crime, the Chief Minister prefers action over dialogue. He stated, "Tejashwi, who demands statements from the CM, should not forget the lawlessness during his parents' tenure. Organized crime was blatant then, with kidnappings managed directly from the CM's residence. Kidnapping was a thriving business in Bihar back then."
Singh continued, noting that while Tejashwi may have been too young to remember those times, he should acknowledge that under Nitish Kumar's leadership, prompt action follows every crime.
As the investigation into the Khemka murder case continues, the Bihar Police are delving deeper following the arrest of the shooter and the death of Vikas Kumar. This case is gaining political momentum as the Bihar Assembly elections of 2025 approach.
