Mumbai, April 26 (NationPress) On Saturday, Shiv Sena UBT initiated a signature campaign advocating for Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to be integrated into India. The party has placed posters and banners at railway stations and various locations throughout Mumbai and Maharashtra.
The signature drive aims to vehemently denounce the terrorist assault in Pahalgam that resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists from different parts of the nation.
“In response to the heinous attack on innocent Indian citizens in Pahalgam, the Shiv Sena (UBT) has been demonstrating at numerous sites across Maharashtra for the last two days, condemning the Pakistanis who back the terrorists. The public's anger, desire for retribution, and demand for Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to be part of India were clearly articulated,” stated party leader and former minister Aaditya Thackeray in a post on X.
He added, “We stand resolutely with the Government of India during this tragic period. We endorse any action the Central Government takes against terrorism. It is time for revenge! The backbone of the Pakistan-supported terrorists must be shattered now!”
On Friday, in its editorial for the mouthpiece Saamana, Shiv Sena UBT remarked that the government should swiftly act in the national interest rather than engage in mere rhetoric. “The Pahalgam attack is brutal, but attributing this incident to Hindu-Muslim tensions is even more brutal. Our battle is with Pakistan and its terrorist factions. Anyone attempting to malign Indian Muslims and the Kashmiri populace in this struggle is merely seeking to politicize Pahalgam, similar to Pulwama,” the editorial stated.
Furthermore, it noted, “The nation has yet to recover from the shock of the Pahalgam terror strike. Twenty-five lakh tourists from across the country flocked to Kashmir, encouraged by the narrative that we have eradicated terrorism in the region, and this occurred without incident. There is a widespread demand that every drop of blood and every tear shed in Kashmir be avenged and that justice be served against Pakistan.”
Moreover, the Shiv Sena UBT editorial on Thursday claimed that terrorism in Kashmir persists, asserting that the Kashmir policy has undeniably faltered under PM Modi's administration. “This issue will not be resolved through threats against Pakistan. Such threats may soothe PM Modi's supporters. In Pahalgam, terrorists attacked the backs of the ‘fake saviors’ of Hindus,” it commented.
The piece also accused PM Modi and other officials of issuing empty threats to Pakistan while terrorists continue to infiltrate India, killing innocent Hindus. Kashmir remains chaotic under BJP rule. What more can be expected when an atmosphere of religious animosity is fostered nationwide?” it questioned.
