Bengaluru, Feb 23 (NationPress) Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar claimed on Monday that the BJP is approaching its concluding days.
At the MGNREGA Bachao convention held in Chikkaballapura, he stated, "As a lamp burns brightly before its extinguishment, the BJP is nearing its end as they aim to dismantle the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi."
“This event is organized to safeguard the nation. The Congress party has provided employment assurances to rural citizens through the MGNREGA initiative. The central government is attempting to undermine this scheme. We must protect MGNREGA and uphold Gandhiji's legacy,” he emphasized.
“Panchayats were empowered to choose the projects to undertake. The scheme facilitated work worth Rs 1-2 crore in each of the 5900 panchayats. It is crucial that we preserve MGNREGA,” he added.
“MGNREGA instills confidence in farmers and laborers, and it is essential to defend it. Our party and the government have resolved to rename the panchayat offices in honor of the Mahatma,” he remarked.
“With the new scheme, states will be required to cover 40% of the costs. Even states governed by the BJP will struggle to implement it. Chandrababu Naidu has also indicated his inability to adopt this new scheme. This initiative spells doom for all states,” he pointed out.
“The BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously criticized our guarantee schemes, yet have since imitated them. No one can halt the time guarantee scheme; the Congress party will not permit anyone to obstruct it,” he asserted.
“Just as they are usurping voters' rights, they are also infringing upon employment rights. We will continue to advocate until MGNREGA is restored. Your support is vital in this struggle,” he concluded.
