Barabanki (Uttar Pradesh), March 28 (NationPress) – A shocking incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district, where a 21-year-old man was reportedly beheaded, according to police reports on Saturday.

The brutal act occurred within the jurisdiction of the Tikaitnagar police station in Barabanki district.

As per officials, after committing the act, the alleged perpetrator picked up the victim's severed head and walked back home.

The police later recovered the victim's head during a search of the suspect's residence.

The deceased has been identified as Bablu, a native of Para Behata village.

As the oldest of three siblings, Bablu leaves behind a wife and two young children.

Authorities revealed that Bablu had left his home on Saturday to sell ice, as per his usual routine, when he engaged in a heated argument with a local resident identified as Shankar.

Reports indicate that the verbal dispute escalated to violence, resulting in Shankar attacking Bablu with a sharp weapon, causing the horrific beheading.

In a shocking twist, rather than fleeing the scene, the accused carried Bablu's severed head back to his residence.

Upon receiving the alert, a significant police presence was dispatched to cordon off the village under the direction of Superintendent of Police (SP) Arpit Vijayvargiya.

What horrified the police further was the scene they encountered upon reaching the suspect's home: he was preparing a meal with the victim's severed head placed beside him.

The suspect was subsequently arrested, and both the victim's head and the weapon used in the murder were seized.

SP Vijayvargiya noted that, at first glance, the case appears to stem from insanity and a personal conflict, but an in-depth investigation is ongoing to uncover the true motives behind this brutal act.

Earlier this month, a similar incident occurred in Lohara village within Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district, where a 21-year-old man allegedly beheaded two elderly neighbors and injured two others, suspecting them of using black magic that led to his wife's recent miscarriage.

Point of View

This incident highlights the alarming rise of violent crimes in local communities. While personal disputes are often cited as motives, the gruesome nature of this crime raises questions about mental health and societal issues. Authorities must address these alarming trends to ensure public safety.
