Bhopal, Feb 19 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure and Madhya Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Rajendra Shukla, has taken aim at West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, for her remark labeling the Maha Kumbh as 'Mrityu Kumbh'. He stated that her comments have deeply offended the religious sentiments of crores of Hindus.

Shukla described Banerjee's statements regarding the Maha Kumbh as 'condemnable' and 'irresponsible'.

He emphasized that the Maha Kumbh holds significant importance for Hindus and their Sanatan Dharma. For centuries, devotees have engaged in 'kalpvaas' at Prayagraj, and making such disparaging comments about this sacred occasion is utterly unacceptable, he remarked during an interview with IANS.

Shukla accused the West Bengal Chief Minister and other opposition figures of disparaging the Maha Kumbh due to their inability to recognize the progressive initiatives introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He stated, 'Leaders like Mamata Banerjee are disconnected from the populace and the nation's development. They consistently seek to incite unrest for their own political gain. Their primary concern is maintaining their hold on power.'

Further criticizing Banerjee, Shukla noted, 'She has shown reluctance in implementing even the Ayushman Yojana in her state.'

The Sant Samaj has also reacted fiercely to Banerjee's comments about the Maha Kumbh, labeling her statement as an affront to Sanatan Dharma.

The national secretary of the Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani, Mahant Jamuna Puri, stated, 'The Prayagraj Maha Kumbh is an Amrit Parv, a divine celebration witnessed by the entire world. Such derogatory terms should not have been used in reference to the Maha Kumbh.'

Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Arun Giri from the Panch Dashnam Awahan Akhara forcefully condemned the Trinamool Congress leader's remarks, asserting, 'West Bengal is evolving into a 'mrityu pradesh' (state of death) for Hindu Sanatanis. Countless Sanatanis are being slaughtered, and many Hindus are compelled to flee during elections.'

On Tuesday, Banerjee launched a full-scale assault on her Uttar Pradesh counterpart, Yogi Adityanath, claiming that the fatalities during the stampede in Prayagraj were a result of 'mismanagement'.

She labeled the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh as 'Mrityu Kumbh', alleging that while VIPs received special treatment, the impoverished lacked basic necessities.
