Siddaramaiah Announces the Conclusion of His Political Journey

Chamarajanagar, Dec 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, declared on Saturday that he is approaching the conclusion of his political journey.

During an event to inaugurate the newly built Lakshmamma Soseyya Siddayya Government Higher Primary School in Chamarajanagar, a supporter exclaimed, “You will become Chief Minister for the third time,” prompting Siddaramaiah to respond, “I am now at the end of my political career.”

He highlighted the significance of public support, asserting that thriving in politics is impossible without it.

Reflecting on the late B. Rachaiah, a prominent political figure in the area, he acknowledged Rachaiah's influence on his own political development.

Siddaramaiah mentioned that when Chamarajanagar was still part of the Mysuru district, it was under Rachaiah's leadership that they were designated as separate districts.

“During my time as Deputy Chief Minister, we declared the formation of a new district, with late J.H. Patel serving as Chief Minister,” he recalled.

He further noted that some legislators propagated the notion that a Chief Minister's visit to Chamarajanagar would lead to their loss of power, which deterred them from coming to the district.

“This stigma suggested that any Chief Minister visiting would lose their position. However, Rachaiah and I dismissed such superstitions. We both visited Chamarajanagar and announced the new district. I have served as Chief Minister twice and have visited Chamarajanagar at least twenty times. Instead of losing my position, my influence only grew,” Siddaramaiah shared.

Reflecting on his own school days, he mentioned, “When we were students, we used to go to school barefoot. During my previous term as Chief Minister, I initiated the ‘Shoe Bhagya’ program, ensuring that every student had shoes, socks, and uniforms.”

He added that the current state government is providing milk, ragi malt, eggs, chikki, bananas, uniforms, and books to children.

“Children should now focus on their studies and not be deprived of education,” he emphasized.

To alleviate financial burdens on families, the ‘Griha Laxmi’ program has been put into action.

“Over Rs 30,000 crore is being invested to enhance economic and social empowerment for the populace. Additionally, Rs 56,000 crore is allocated for the guarantees,” he stated.
