Shivamogga, March 1 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, strongly criticized the United States for its 'unwarranted' military action against Iran. He assured that Kannadigas currently stranded in Arab nations would be safely returned home. During an interaction with journalists at Shivamogga airport, he mentioned that the state government remains in regular contact with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safety of Kannadigas caught in 'war-affected' areas of the Middle East.

As of now, approximately 30 individuals from Ballari are stranded in Arab nations, and efforts are being made to facilitate their return. The Chief Minister confirmed that Indians residing in Dubai are safe.

Siddaramaiah highlighted that discussions have taken place with the Chief Secretary and the Resident Commissioner to address the safety concerns of Kannadigas in the Arab region.

He noted that Dubai airport is temporarily closed, but plans are in place to bring back stranded individuals as soon as flight operations resume.

He shared that S.L. Bhoje Gowda, a member of the Legislative Council from JD(S), communicated with him from Dubai and confirmed his safety while staying in a hotel.
