New Delhi, March 21 (NationPress) Delhi Food and Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Friday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of deliberately exacerbating Delhi's air pollution to tarnish the image of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He asserted that since the BJP took control in Delhi, meaningful progress has been achieved in lowering pollution levels.

In a video message shared on X, Sirsa stated, “Since the BJP assumed command in Delhi, we have been diligently working to enhance air quality, and we have made notable strides. The air quality is improving annually, with numerous days being significantly cleaner. We have set records over the past three years, which the Aam Aadmi Party seems to find unsettling.”

He went on to accuse the AAP of employing drastic measures to compromise the city's air quality.

“It is disheartening to say this, but the AAP has stooped so low that they are now collecting garbage in parks and igniting it. I have shared a video of this event. This is being conducted with the sole intent of polluting the air and discrediting the BJP,” Sirsa remarked.

Sirsa specifically addressed AAP leader Atishi, urging her to permit the BJP to execute its duties without hindrance. “Atishi Ji, you must acknowledge the reality. Arvind Kejriwal Ji, you need to accept the truth. Allow the BJP to serve the people of Delhi. You should not obstruct progress. Atishi Ji, I am sharing this video for your awareness – a fire was ignited outside Bindra Park in Rajouri Garden, and similar incidents have been happening.”

Sirsa urged Atishi to take measures against the offenders within her party and the corporation.

“If you are genuinely unbiased, I implore you to file a case against your own party members and your corporation, so that it becomes evident who is responsible for these actions that aim to deteriorate Delhi’s air quality,” he stated.

Expressing his condemnation, Sirsa concluded, “I firmly denounce those accountable for this act. The people of Delhi can perceive how the AAP is striving to inflict further difficulties in their lives through air pollution and harm to their health. This reflects the mentality of the Aam Aadmi Party.”

In the video shared by the Minister, trash can be seen ablaze in a park, and he specifically pointed fingers at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for this.

Sirsa commented, “Shocking & Shameful! Last night, the MCD intentionally set a fire in Rajouri Garden… a reckless act under the AAP-led MCD just as Delhi’s AQI had improved in recent weeks. This is nothing but a calculated maneuver to pollute the air & subsequently shift the blame onto the BJP Government. This anti-people conduct is criminal and necessitates immediate action! Those responsible, including the Mayor, must be prosecuted and held accountable for jeopardizing public health and the environment!”
