Sirsa emphasized the importance of harmony and inclusivity while also addressing a legal issue involving Arvind Kejriwal.

Key Takeaways

  • Mutual respect for all religions is crucial during celebrations.
  • Holi is a festival that promotes unity and joy.
  • Controversial statements can lead to public outcry.
  • Inclusivity enhances societal harmony.
  • Legal challenges can arise from misuse of public property.

New Delhi, March 12 (NationPress) In reaction to the controversial comments made by Uttar Pradesh Minister, Thakur Raghuraj Singh, suggesting that Muslims who wish to perform Friday prayers on Holi should don a “Tarpaulin Hijab” to prevent their attire from being stained with colors, Delhi's Forest and Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa emphasized the necessity for mutual respect towards diverse religions and their respective festivities.

Singh's remarks ignited significant public backlash, particularly following a similar statement from Sambhal Circle Officer Anuj Chaudhary regarding the coinciding of Holi and Jumma Namaz this year.

Sirsa underscored the importance of harmony and peaceful coexistence, urging individuals to concentrate on celebrating Holi, a festival symbolizing unity and vibrancy, without causing unnecessary controversy.

In an interview with IANS, Sirsa stated, “Holi is a sacred festival that unites people, and we should celebrate it joyfully. It is regrettable that some individuals are turning this into a controversy. We need to respect each other’s religions and festivals, as this promotes mutual respect and understanding. Let’s not permit such matters to divide us.”

He further highlighted the significance of inclusivity, saying, “Honoring each other’s beliefs strengthens our own and fosters harmonious living. We should avoid unnecessary disputes and focus on the true essence of celebration.”

Sirsa also commented on a recent Delhi Court ruling which mandated the filing of an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal and others concerning the placement of large hoardings in Dwarka.

Sirsa characterized the case as an exposure of Kejriwal’s alleged corruption, suggesting that the court’s decision validates previous claims.

“This is yet another instance of the corruption Kejriwal has been implicated in,” he remarked. “We have been asserting this for an extended period, and now even the court has corroborated it. The case against him under various Sections further clarifies that his actions were not merely unethical but also illegal.”

The Delhi Court's directive under the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act has escalated former Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal's legal challenges, as the court ordered the prompt registration of an FIR, highlighting serious concerns regarding the alleged abuse of public property by the AAP government.
