Ghaziabad, July 16 (NationPress) A family from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad has come forward with alarming accusations against Jamaluddin, also known as Chhangur Baba, who is alleged to be the mastermind behind a significant religious conversion racket. The family has implicated one of his associates, Badar Akhtar Siddique, claiming that he deceived their daughter under the pretense of providing job opportunities.
The family reports that their daughter went missing in October 2019 after being manipulated and indoctrinated into following Chhangur Baba. They allege that she was promised employment in Dubai, only to be separated from her Hindu beliefs and brainwashed.
They assert that Siddique, who operated under false Hindu identities, utilized emotional coercion to ensnare young women, labeling this as part of an ongoing love jihad campaign.
In an interview with IANS, the victim's sister recounted that her sibling met Siddique in 2019 during a tour and travel course in Delhi. She stated, “Badar lured her with the promise of driving her around in cars and engaging her in conversation. She was taken to Delhi multiple times, where her mind was systematically controlled. It is alleged that she was subjected to brainwashing through black magic. There has been no trace of my sister since October 24, 2019. The last time Siddique transported her in a Skoda car, which had curtains and was accompanied by three unidentified individuals,” she revealed.
The sister expressed concern over her sibling's drastic behavior change, noting that she had stopped praying, was disturbed by mentions of God, and distanced herself from her parents. She began discussing the Muslim faith and only referred to Badar Akhtar, indicating her subjugation to his influence.
The family received several messages from the girl's phone until the end of October 2019, but the spelling and writing style differed significantly, suggesting someone else was using the phone. Ultimately, the messages ceased.
The family is convinced that both Chhangur Baba and Badar Akhtar Siddique are at the center of the conspiracy and bear responsibility for the girl's disappearance. They have been searching relentlessly since 2019 without any leads. The family believes that a comprehensive investigation of Chhangur Baba could reveal numerous similar cases across the state.
They are demanding a thorough inquiry and stringent action against those involved. Meanwhile, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is conducting an extensive investigation, reportedly focusing on possible foreign connections and identifying other potential victims.
Chhangur Baba, once a vendor selling rings and amulets from his bicycle, is now accused of orchestrating a sophisticated conversion syndicate financed by international funds. He is originally from Rehra Mafi village in Uttar Pradesh and previously served as the village head. According to officials, his entire operation, fueled by conversion-related funds, is based in the Uttaraula area of Balrampur district, which borders Nepal.
Investigations revealed he controls assets worth Rs 106 crore, allegedly received from Middle Eastern nations, distributed across 40 bank accounts, along with at least two properties valued in crores.
He was apprehended on July 5 alongside his close associate Neetu, alias Nasreen, at a hotel in Lucknow, shortly after the racket was uncovered in Balrampur district. Since the arrests, authorities have intensified their investigations into his extensive network and financial dealings.
Ongoing investigations are scrutinizing documents and digital evidence to uncover the full scope of the operation.
