Is SIT's Notice to KCR a Case of Vendetta Politics?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Jan 29 (NationPress) K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has denounced the SIT notice issued to party president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, labeling it as a blatant instance of egregious politics of vendetta.
Rama Rao charged that the notice directed at K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is a tactic employed by the Telangana government to obscure its failures and distract the public from its administrative inadequacies.
Taking to ‘X’, Rama Rao expressed his outrage regarding the notice made by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) concerning his father and BRS chief KCR.
“This is not an inquiry. This is vengeance. This is not about justice. This is political animosity,” he asserted.
Referring to KCR as a remarkable leader, Rama Rao stated that he valiantly advocated for Telangana's statehood, risking everything, and ultimately succeeded.
Rama Rao emphasized that KCR has, over his decade-long governance, presented Telangana to the world.
“He is a visionary who has uplifted every segment of society, treated the state as a newborn, and steered Telangana towards growth through initiatives such as the irrigation revolution, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and Dalit Bandhu,” declared the BRS Working President.
“This esteemed leader is now being targeted by the inept Congress government, which rose to power on a foundation of deceptive promises and reckless assurances. Within a year, this administration has betrayed the populace and utterly failed to fulfill its commitments,” he continued.
Rama Rao asserted that KCR holds a special place in the hearts of the Telangana people and that the Congress government cannot erase Telangana’s history through notices and intimidation tactics.
“If you tarnish the Telangana movement and the dignity of Telangana, the people will deliver a deserved response. We will stand alongside the populace and persist in our battle against this unjust regime as their voice. The history of Telangana will be chronicled not through inquiries but through the people's verdict,” Rama Rao remarked.
The SIT had issued a notice to KCR on Thursday, instructing him to be present for questioning at 3 p.m. on Friday (January 30).
The investigation pertains to the alleged interception of phones belonging to various political adversaries, businessmen, journalists, and even judges during the tenure of the previous BRS administration.
The SIT had previously interrogated BRS leaders and former ministers including Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao, and former MP J. Santosh Rao.
