New Delhi, Feb 18 (NationPress) Slovakia’s President Peter Pellegrini touched down in New Delhi on Wednesday to engage in the AI Impact Summit 2026, an event highlighting the groundbreaking prospects of artificial intelligence. His arrival was greeted with a warm reception at the airport by Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Jitendra Singh.

President Pellegrini is set to partake in the ongoing India-AI Impact Summit, which has gathered world leaders, policymakers, and tech experts to discuss the transformative influence of artificial intelligence on economic development, governance, and social progress. His involvement is anticipated to energize India-Slovakia collaboration in the realms of emerging technologies, research, and innovation.

As he was welcomed, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) shared on X, “President Pellegrini has arrived in New Delhi and was received by Minister of State Jitendra Singh at the airport, showcasing the cordial diplomatic ties between our nations.”

The India-AI Impact Summit, recognized as one of the premier global platforms for artificial intelligence, will facilitate extensive discussions on ethical AI, regulatory frameworks, and the role of advanced technologies in transforming industries and public services. Slovakia’s participation is expected to enrich the dialogue through the exchange of best practices and policy insights.

This five-day summit has attracted participation from over 110 countries and 30 international organizations, including around 20 Heads of State or Government and nearly 45 ministers, making it one of the largest assemblies dedicated to AI governance and collaboration.

The event aims to align global AI initiatives with India’s civilizational ethos of “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” (welfare for all, happiness for all) while promoting the broader principle of AI for Humanity.

As the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 marks its fourth edition, following previous gatherings in the United Kingdom in 2023, South Korea in 2024, and France in 2025, it provides a platform for leaders to explore the ethical, economic, and social dimensions of artificial intelligence while enhancing partnerships across digital technology, trade, culture, tourism, and maritime cooperation.

As President Pellegrini embarks on his official duties in the capital, this visit is expected to further strengthen India-Slovakia relations and exemplify how diplomacy and technological collaboration can collectively tackle global challenges in an increasingly digital landscape.
