SpiceJet Flight Heading to Kochi Makes Emergency Landing at Chennai Airport Due to Mid-Air Technical Issue

Chennai, Dec 9 (NationPress) A SpiceJet flight traveling from Chennai to Kochi had to make an emergency return to Chennai airport due to a sudden technical glitch encountered mid-air on Monday morning.
The flight departed from Chennai airport at 6:30 A.M. with 117 passengers, including crew members, and faced issues shortly after takeoff.
The pilot immediately notified the Chennai Airport Control Room, which directed the flight to return for an emergency landing.
The aircraft landed safely at 7:15 A.M., and all passengers were provided accommodations in the airport lounges.
A team of flight engineers is currently addressing the issue.
However, neither the airline authorities nor Chennai airport officials have given a timeline for when operations will resume.
When contacted, sources at Kochi airport mentioned they had not received any updates regarding the cancellation of the flight.
This incident occurs amid a string of recent aviation challenges.
Just a few days ago, adverse weather conditions caused by Cyclone Fengal resulted in a near-miss for an IndiGo Airbus A 320 at Chennai airport.
While attempting to land, the aircraft's wheels were just inches from the ground when the pilot aborted the landing and executed a go-around.
In another incident, a flight from Chennai scheduled to land in Thoothukudi was diverted to Madurai due to unforeseen complications.
After circling briefly, the aircraft successfully made an emergency landing in Madurai.
All 77 passengers, including Tamil Nadu's Public Works Minister, E.V. Velu, disembarked without any issues.
Recently, an Air India Express flight from Kuwait to Chennai had to make an emergency return to Kuwait due to a mid-air technical snag.
This flight, carrying 154 passengers, was unable to continue after the issue persisted.
The airline ultimately canceled the flight, providing accommodations for passengers in Kuwait.
