This incident unfolded on Monday at a private engineering college located in the Bheemunipatnam mandal of Visakhapatnam district.

A video capturing the incident quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage among users.

The confrontation began when the lecturer took hold of the student's phone for violating the college's policy by using it on campus.

Angered by the lecturer's actions, the student engaged in a heated exchange with her.

The girl asserted that the phone was worth Rs 12,000 and in a threatening tone, demanded to know if she would get her phone back. When the teacher denied her request, the student resorted to abusive language and removed her footwear, asking, “Will you return my phone, or do I need to hit you with my slipper?”

As the teacher remained adamant and refused to return the device, the student approached her and began striking her with the sandal. The teacher defended herself, resulting in a physical altercation between them. Other students and staff members stepped in to separate the two.

The college administration has taken this incident seriously, and disciplinary action against the student is anticipated.
