Alappuzha (Kerala), Oct 16 (NationPress) Following his intense criticism of party members within the CPI(M), seasoned leader G. Sudhakaran did not hold back on Thursday, targeting his junior colleague and State Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian along with others, and announcing his withdrawal from the party's campaign efforts.
Sudhakaran, a former cabinet minister, has expressed ongoing frustration regarding what he perceives as his marginalization and mistreatment within the party.
He voiced his dissatisfaction over not receiving invitations to party events for the last five years and accused the leadership of isolating him, despite his decades of dedicated service.
Moreover, he alleged that he and his family have been subjected to numerous cyberattacks, which he claims are orchestrated by individuals tied to the party.
Sudhakaran accused certain party members of insulting him online, circulating misleading narratives that he is power-hungry and harbors parliamentary aspirations.
“These allegations are entirely unfounded, and those accountable should face consequences,” Sudhakaran stated, insisting on action against the perpetrators of the online harassment.
He specifically called out Alappuzha district secretary Nazar and Minister Saji Cherian for allegedly spearheading public campaigns against him, questioning whether they should also be labeled as “cyber warriors.”
Sudhakaran further criticized the party leadership for their inaction regarding his complaints.
“Those who ought to address this cyber abuse are instead advising me as if I am at fault,” he remarked.
He raised the point of whether it is not a matter of pride for the district secretary that he continues to serve under his leadership. “Rather than being appreciated, I am being subjected to humiliation,” he declared.
This latest outburst from Sudhakaran underscores the internal discord within the CPI(M), especially with two significant elections approaching.
Renowned for his integrity and candid demeanor, Sudhakaran's relationship with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been strained in recent years.
Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan supported him, expressing that it is regrettable that even prominent figures like Sudhakaran are not immune to the “cyber goons” associated with the CPI(M).
Sudhakaran, a two-time former cabinet minister, remains among the party’s most vocal leaders from Alappuzha.
