Is This Really Modi's Era Where Everything Happens Quickly?

Bengaluru, Aug 6 (NationPress) Criticizing the Karnataka government for opposing his push to accelerate the inauguration of the Yellow Line Metro project, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya remarked on Wednesday, "This is Modi’s era, where everything transpires swiftly, and the delays are part of the Congress party's heritage."

In a media address in New Delhi, Surya stated, "As a representative of a new generation, I aspire for projects to be executed without delay. The time when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi laid foundation stones while Sonia Gandhi inaugurated projects years later is long gone."

"Those lamenting the swift completion of the Yellow Line Metro—what role have they played in it? During times of challenges, where were they? For four years, the Managing Director position at BMRCL was unoccupied. The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited has postponed the inauguration multiple times over two years," he criticized.

"This is the moment for rapid progress. Take the Alamatti Dam for instance: former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri laid the foundation stone, and it wasn't inaugurated until decades later by former PM Manmohan Singh. That reflects the Congress party's lethargy. People benefiting from 'zero traffic' routes don't grasp the necessity for metro services," Surya pointed out.

He also noted that a full-time Managing Director for the ambitious suburban rail project remains to be appointed, leading to stalled work on all four corridors and abandoned construction by contractors.

"This highlights the disappointing performance of the Karnataka government. Bengaluru Metro is the most expensive in the nation. I've requested a report concerning the ticket pricing mechanism, but have yet to receive it. A fare increase of 130 percent—what repercussions will that have on the common citizen? I acknowledge the state's financial input, yet it is failing to meet its obligations," he stated.

In response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's claims of election fraud in Bengaluru, Surya remarked, "The Supreme Court has confirmed that the election process in Bihar is proceeding correctly. Rahul Gandhi has been making such claims for a decade, particularly when the political landscape turns against him. He finds it acceptable when the court rules in his favor, but questions the judiciary when it doesn't."

Surya concluded, stating, "Rahul Gandhi has criticized the judiciary, the Lokpal, and other constitutional bodies whenever outcomes don’t align with his desires."
