Nagpur, March 31 (NationPress) Swami Avdheshanand Giri, the Mahamandaleshwar of Juna Akhara, on Monday elaborated on the events during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. He emphasized that ensuring India’s growth and prosperity for the next 1,000 years is among the key priorities of PM Modi’s leadership.
He also commented on a viral video where PM Modi was smiling and engaging joyfully with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and others during his visit. Explaining the context of the PM’s smile, Swami Avdheshanand Giri mentioned, "As I praised him, he began to laugh. He didn’t even acknowledge our commendation. Instead, he ascribed all his achievements to divine blessings, genuinely believing that his success is a consequence of God’s grace," Giri informed IANS.
"There was no hint of arrogance in him. He is approachable, grounded, and profoundly connected to the values that shape India’s culture. He is a ‘Mahapurush’ (great man) yet remains incredibly humble. His ability to maintain simplicity while leading the nation is truly commendable," Giri remarked.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi participated in a program held at the RSS headquarters in celebration of Gudi Padwa. The event also featured Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj.
This marked PM Modi's inaugural visit to the RSS HQ as Prime Minister, making him only the second Prime Minister to do so after Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
During the discussion with IANS, Swami Avdheshanand Giri stated, "The Prime Minister articulated his vision of preparing India for the next 1,000 years to guarantee its strength and well-being."
He underscored PM Modi’s focus on India’s cultural ethos, especially the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the concept of 'the world as one family.'
"He highlighted the public welfare aspects inherent in Indian culture, stating that for centuries it has guided humanity towards betterment," Giri added.
He further shared with IANS, "The Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of advancing the teachings of Dr. Hedgewar and Guru Golwalkar, asserting that the nation is experiencing the positive effects of the Sangh’s century-long commitment."
When asked about his exchange with PM Modi, Swami Avdheshanand noted, "The Prime Minister’s humility shone through during the event. When appreciated, he received it graciously, attributing it to divine intervention. He reaffirmed his steadfast dedication to the nation’s welfare."
Responding to the Opposition's comments regarding the unhygienic condition of cowsheds, the spiritual leader remarked, "PM Modi stressed the significance of the cow as a mother, asserting that it is beneficial not only for India but for the entire globe. He referenced the contributions of Indian cow breeds in various nations, including Brazil."
Giri firmly opposed Samajwadi Party leader Ramji Lal Suman’s remarks, branding Rana Sanga a traitor.
"This nation will never tolerate the denigration of its great figures. India has consistently honored the principles of its true heroes, and those who malign them are committing a significant injustice," he concluded.
