Taxi Driver Involved in Collision with Rajasthan CM's Convoy Passes Away

Jaipur, Dec 12 (NationPress) Pawan Kumar, a taxi driver, tragically passed away from his injuries following a collision with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's convoy in Jaipur on Thursday, according to an official report.

The incident occurred on Wednesday around noon at Akshaya Patra Circle, located at Jagatpura Square, when a private vehicle collided with the Chief Minister's convoy.

This unfortunate crash resulted in the death of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Surendra Singh and left four other police personnel injured, including ACP Traffic Amir Hassan, along with constables Balwan Singh, Rajendra Singh, and Devendra Singh.

All injured individuals were immediately transported to Jeevan Rekha Hospital, where ASI Surendra Singh, who suffered from severe head injuries, succumbed to his wounds during medical treatment.

The private car involved in the accident had two occupants: Pawan Kumar and Amit Kumar Aulia.

Pawan Kumar, critically hurt, was taken to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, where he passed away on Thursday.

Amit Kumar, in contrast, is reported to be stable and is currently receiving care at Khandaka Hospital in Jaipur.

Family members of the deceased Pawan Kumar stated that he was a resident of Karauli, living with his wife and their two young children near Jagatpura's number 7 Bus Stand. His children are just two-and-a-half years and 20 days old, respectively.

Pawan Kumar had recently returned to Jaipur after working in the UAE for one and a half years.

The other police officer, ASI Surendra Singh, hailed from Vaishali Nagar in Jaipur.

Surendra Singh leaves behind a grieving family, including his wife, a son, and a daughter, as well as his father, a retired Army officer. Surendra Singh was cremated on Thursday in his native village, Kath Ke Majra, Neemrana (Alwar).

In response to ASI Surendra Singh's untimely death, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara has called for the fallen officer to be honored with the status of a martyr.

A case concerning the incident has been filed at Ramnagariya police station, and investigations are currently ongoing.
