Kolkata, July 15 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in West Bengal and prominent BJP figure, Suvendu Adhikari, claimed on Tuesday that the ongoing protest by innocent teachers facing job losses, due to a Supreme Court ruling in April that annulled 25,753 teaching positions in the state, is being undermined from within by alleged leftist individuals participating in the demonstrations.
LoP Adhikari urged the protesting innocent teachers to ensure that the direction of their protest does not fall under the influence of these leftist individuals, asserting that they are covertly working to prevent the movement from gaining momentum against the West Bengal government.
According to the Leader of the Opposition, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is adept at destabilizing protests aimed at her administration or party.
"These leftist individuals are secretly aiding the Chief Minister's agenda in this matter," LoP Adhikari remarked.
He also indicated that the influence of these leftist individuals led to the waning of public outrage and mobilization regarding the rape and murder of a female junior doctor at the state-run R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata last April.
"Unless the protesting innocent teachers can identify these individuals and ensure they do not steer the movement, the teachers' struggle may end up like the R.G. Kar protest," the LoP warned.
He encouraged the protesting teachers to seek backing from a nationalist group like the BJP to sustain their protest over time.
"I assure you, you are not alone in this movement; the BJP is here to support you," LoP Adhikari concluded.
