Patna, Aug 19 (NationPress) Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), vocally endorsed his ‘bade bhai’ (elder brother) and Congress Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi during the ongoing Voter Adhikar Yatra. He asserted that the Mahagathbandhan (RJD-Congress-Left coalition in Bihar) is committed to propelling him to the role of the next Prime Minister.
Tejashwi’s endorsement for Rahul Gandhi was delivered during a roadshow in Nawada district. Speaking to his enthusiastic supporters, he stated, “When the next Lok Sabha elections occur, our goal is to unseat the NDA government and ensure that Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister.”
The rallying cry from the RJD leader, who is also the undeniable face of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar's elections, was met with loud cheers and applause.
Tejashwi and Rahul, who kicked off the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ from Sasaram in Bihar, plan to cover a distance of 1300 km across the state to garner public backing before the Assembly elections. Their camaraderie was evident, as Tejashwi was seen driving a jeep, with Rahul waving to the crowd from the passenger seat in a widely circulated photo.
In his advocacy for Rahul Gandhi's candidacy for Prime Minister, Tejashwi also criticized the central government and the Nitish administration for allegedly manipulating electoral rolls and neglecting the people of Bihar.
He pointed out that numerous names have been removed from the Bihar electoral rolls, claiming that many individuals who participated in previous Lok Sabha elections are now flagged as deceased in the latest draft.
“The BJP is infringing upon the voting rights of citizens in the upcoming elections, in collusion with the Election Commission,” said Tejashwi, crediting Rahul for uncovering corruption and electoral fraud in Bihar.
Critiquing the Nitish administration, he described the Chief Minister as being in an “unconscious state” and incapable of leading the state, emphasizing the urgent need to remove this ‘ineffective and inefficient’ government.
He highlighted that the Bihar government lacks a concrete plan for public welfare and is merely imitating the policies proposed by him and the grand alliance.
“The Mahagathbandhan has promised the citizens of Bihar free electricity, increased pensions, and the establishment of a youth commission. They have merely replicated our commitments, launching them just before the elections to deceive the public,” he asserted.
Tejashwi concluded by stating that the INDIA bloc is destined to shape Bihar's future, as it embodies a ‘vision and mission’ for the state and boasts a ‘pool of young leadership’ to guide it.
