Patna, Sep 18 (NationPress) Union Minister and Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh on Thursday ridiculed Bihar’s Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, claiming that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took advantage of him during the Voter Adhikar Yatra.
While addressing the media in Begusarai, Singh asserted that the crowds present during the yatra were organized by Tejashwi, yet it was Rahul Gandhi who garnered all the attention.
“There was a perception in the media that Rahul Gandhi had become a crowd magnet in Bihar. However, the truth is that the Congress has no real presence here—it entirely relies on the RJD. Despite this, Tejashwi played a minor role while Rahul Gandhi claimed all the accolades,” he noted.
Singh further mentioned that Tejashwi continuously promoted Rahul Gandhi as a “future Prime Minister” during the yatra, hoping to receive Gandhi’s backing for his own aspirations as Bihar’s Chief Minister. “But Rahul Gandhi never acknowledged that. This is the reason Tejashwi is now conducting the Bihar Adhikar Yatra independently—to step out of Rahul’s shadow ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections,” Singh contended.
The Union Textile Minister, however, completely dismissed Tejashwi’s prospects. “He can try as hard as he wants, but he will never become the Chief Minister of Bihar. The people are with the NDA, and our government will once again be established in the state,” Singh declared.
Singh also downplayed the significance of the upcoming Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Patna on September 24, asserting that it would not influence Bihar’s political landscape. “The Congress holds no relevance here. Whether it’s Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, or Mallikarjun Kharge who comes, it will make no difference. The NDA will secure a significant victory in the Assembly elections,” he said.
Previously, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan made a similar accusation, claiming Tejashwi has become a mere follower of Rahul Gandhi. Paswan suggested that the Bihar Adhikar Yatra represents Tejashwi’s effort to rebrand himself and shed the perception of being overshadowed by the Congress leader.
