Patna, Aug 19 (NationPress) Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary delivered a sharp critique of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday, branding their 'Vote Adhikar Yatra' as a complete failure.
In a 17-second clip shared on his X account, Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary expressed that the campaign was an utter flop.
"The silence of the road speaks volumes – those who make baseless claims have no presence in Bihar," he stated, alleging that the lack of crowds at the yatra led to an attack on the driver of Nabinagar MLA Vijay Kumar Singh and a journalist.
He characterized this event as indicative of the 'Jungle Raj'.
Choudhary intensified his criticism by asserting, "The public has turned their backs on them. The failed yatra of the Delhi and Bihar royals continues unabated."
His comments were perceived as a pointed jab at Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, reinforcing the BJP-NDA's strategy to depict the opposition's outreach efforts as disconnected from the voters.
Known for his confrontational political approach, Samrat Choudhary often targets the opposition regarding issues of 'Jungle Raj', 'corruption', and 'misgovernance' during the Lalu-Rabri administration.
Previously, Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, condemned Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi over the reported assault on the MLA's driver and a journalist.
It is important to note that after launching a 1,300 km-long 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' from Bihar's Sasaram to protest against the Election Commission of India's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, former Bihar Cabinet Minister Tej Pratap Yadav remarked that the issues they raised would lead to no tangible results.
Currently, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi are striving to galvanize public sentiment against the BJP through the yatra, focusing on issues like jobs, reservations, democracy, and alleged 'vote theft'.
As the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections draw near, the political climate in the state is becoming increasingly charged.
