Is Samrat Choudhary Right to Call Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD a 'Dynastic' Party?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 5 (NationPress) Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister and prominent BJP figure Samrat Choudhary fiercely criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the RJD, accusing the party of fostering dynastic politics and lacking internal democracy.
Choudhary pointed out that the leadership structure within the Rashtriya Janata Dal does not allow for democratic practices, alleging that the party is solely centered around the affection of Lalu Yadav’s son.
He raised concerns about the future of the RJD, likening long-standing party workers to slaves.
Choudhary took a jab at Tejashwi Yadav’s recent elevation as the national working president of RJD, stating, “Lalu Prasad Yadav’s affection for his son has led him to appoint his son as the party's working president.”
He asserted that the RJD places greater importance on family connections over merit and organizational democracy.
Commenting on the results of the recent Bihar Assembly elections, Choudhary claimed that the electorate had entirely rejected the RJD’s political approach.
“The people of Bihar defeated the Rashtriya Janata Dal, leaving them with merely 25 seats,” he remarked, attributing the electoral outcome to public discontent and a loss of faith in the party.
In response to critiques regarding the law and order situation in Bihar, the Deputy Chief Minister defended the Nitish Kumar administration, commending the Bihar Police for their efficiency.
He illustrated his point by stating that the fear of the Bihar Police now transcends state lines.
“Even in Bengaluru, criminals are compelled to go public to seek assistance,” he claimed, asserting that a stringent rule of law prevails, causing criminals to fear the police.
Choudhary reiterated his condemnation of senior RJD leaders and members, stating that those who choose to remain in the party despite what he described as a culture of servitude are doing so voluntarily.
He emphasized that such a work culture is incompatible with a democratic system.
Disregarding the opposition's concerns, the Deputy Chief Minister assured that Bihar is in capable hands and reaffirmed the government's zero-tolerance policy towards crime.
These comments come amid escalating political tensions and ongoing organizational changes within the RJD.
