Patna, April 8 (NationPress) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav passionately advocated for the rights and advancement of the Bhuiya-Musahar community during a gathering at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna on Tuesday.
The event attracted a large audience from the underprivileged community, as Tejashwi Yadav aimed to engage with them and underscore their lack of representation in vital sectors.
He reflected on the legacy of his father and RJD founder Lalu Prasad Yadav, asserting, “Only Lalu Prasad has made efforts to uplift the backward communities. The BJP and RSS have no interest in your progress. This is why your representation in government jobs is minimal, even though you form a significant portion of Bihar’s populace.”
He accused the BJP of undermining reservations and consistently “robbing the rights” of the marginalized.
“Educate your children. Other castes with merely 10 percent of the population have more job opportunities than you. Why is that? Because they are aware of their rights. You need to be as well,” he stated.
The RJD leader made a significant electoral commitment: “When I become Chief Minister, I will guarantee that permanent housing is constructed for all families residing in night shelters, slums, and near drains. Support my vision and give me five years. I may be young, but my resolve is strong. I will fulfill my promises.”
While speaking to the audience, Tejashwi Yadav shared concerning statistics about the Musahar community, which has a population of 4 million, yet has produced only 20 doctors and 76 engineers in Bihar.
The Dom caste, numbering 260,000, has only 19 doctors and 63 engineers. “Overall, just 0.015 percent of Scheduled Caste individuals are doctors,” he noted.
“These figures demonstrate systemic neglect. The BJP does not wish for backward communities to prosper. They want to keep you impoverished and reliant,” Tejashwi emphasized, encouraging the community to advance through education and political engagement.
