Patna, April 18 (NationPress) Following the decision of the INDIA bloc to appoint Tejashwi Yadav as the head of its coordination committee in Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha declared him the 'uncontested Chief Ministerial candidate' for the Grand Alliance.
“Just as the sun rises in the east, it is a universal fact that Tejashwi Yadav represents the CM face of the INDIA bloc,” Jha remarked during a media interaction in Patna on Friday.
He highlighted that Tejashwi was the CM face during the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, leading RJD to emerge as the single largest party with 75 seats.
“His 17-month tenure as Deputy Chief Minister in the Grand Alliance coalition government has received commendations from within the party for effectiveness and visibility. He has provided jobs to the youth of Bihar and initiated numerous welfare programs. The benchmark he has set is incredibly difficult for the ruling parties to surpass, which explains their attempts to create uncertainty around the CM's identity in the Grand Alliance,” Jha elaborated.
During a joint press conference after a significant INDIA bloc meeting at the RJD office in Patna, coalition leaders, including members from Congress, CPI-ML, CPI, CPI(M), and VIP, collectively supported Tejashwi's leadership.
Mritunjay Tiwari, RJD spokesperson, dismissed any doubts regarding the CM's identity: “The people of Bihar -- all 14 crore of them -- have immense trust in Tejashwi Yadav.”
When questioned about Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru’s cautious comments on the CM's face, Tiwari clarified: “There is unity and clarity within the Mahagathbandhan, as emphasized by Allavaru during the joint press conference on Thursday. So, where is the confusion regarding the CM's identity? Tejashwi Yadav is at the forefront of the INDIA bloc’s coordination in Bihar.”
This unanimous support is anticipated to elevate the Grand Alliance's morale as it prepares to confront the NDA in a highly competitive electoral battle later this year.
In response to Tejashwi Yadav being unanimously appointed as the Chairman of the Coordination Committee for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, state Rural Work Department Minister and JD(U) leader Ashok Choudhary downplayed the news.
“We are not concerned with the happenings in the Mahagathbandhan. They are individuals who have been rejected by the people. Our attention is directed toward the NDA, our accomplishments, and what we will present to the populace,” Choudhary stated.
