Bengaluru, Oct 23 (NationPress) Responding to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's comments describing his role as 'Amavasya', BJP MP Tejasvi Surya stated that the Congress administration represents the greatest eclipse over Karnataka.
During a press conference at the BJP office, Tejasvi Surya, who is also the President of the BJP Yuva Morcha, remarked, "In two and a half years, Karnataka will illuminate brilliantly, akin to the sun and moon."
This statement was made in reaction to CM Siddaramaiah's assertion that Tejasvi Surya signifies darkness rather than light.
Addressing CM Siddaramaiah directly, he stated, "The eclipse that stifles Karnataka is your administration. You have been at the helm for nearly two and a half years. Citizens of Bengaluru are enduring severe hardships due to the pothole-ridden roads. The condition of Bengaluru's roads is a testament to the quality of your governance."
Surya further escalated his critique by saying, "Mr. Siddaramaiah is an experienced leader but seems confused about the distinction between Amavasya (new moon) and Pournami (full moon). The sun is visible every day of the year, unlike the moon that disappears on Amavasya."
He quipped, "You are not the sun, Mr. Siddaramaiah. You align with those who revere the moon and appear unsure about its visibility."
Tejasvi Surya elaborated, "People honor the moon on both Amavasya and Pournami. The visibility of the moon may vary, but these traditions are ingrained in our culture. However, we worship Goddess Lakshmi on both occasions."
He advised, "Before making such statements, grasp the difference between the sun and moon, as well as Amavasya and Pournami. The sun remains bright on both days—keep that in mind."
Tejasvi Surya added, "While I could criticize Siddaramaiah personally, as a Member of Parliament representing 2.4 million citizens, it would be inappropriate and contrary to my party's values to engage in such personal attacks."
He highlighted, "During the festive season, people travel home. The moment they transition from national highways to state roads, potholes appear, continuing until they reach the next national highway. This exemplifies your government's governance style."
"There is disorder throughout the state and in Bengaluru, yet you speak of Prime Minister Modi!" he questioned.
In response to a media inquiry about central funding, Tejasvi Surya affirmed, "Whenever Karnataka's interests are at stake, BJP MPs unite across party lines to support the state. We will steadfastly defend Karnataka's identity, pride, land, and language, never compromising on these crucial issues. This is the culture of the BJP, and we will uphold that tradition."
