Telangana CM Directs DPRs for Three Metro Corridors to be Ready by End of March

Hyderabad, Jan 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, convened a meeting on Tuesday, urging officials to finalize the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for three anticipated Metro Rail corridors located in Future City, Shamirpet, and Medchal by the conclusion of March this year.

He instructed the authorities to seek the necessary approval from the Centre for the DPRs concerning these three metro networks and to initiate the tender process by the end of April.

During a review session focused on the advancement of Metro expansion and the creation of radial roads and elevated corridors in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of completing land acquisition for the three Metro Rail corridors - Rajiv Gandhi International Airport-Future City Metro (40 km), JBS-Shamirpet Metro (22 km), and Paradise-Medchal Metro Rail (23 km).

The Chief Minister highlighted that the elevated corridors should be constructed with foresight to cater to future demands, and a thorough field-level study should be conducted during the design phase of the alignment.

He advised the officials that the Metro project along the Medchal route should take into account the existing three flyovers on the national highway and urged them to commence the construction of elevated corridors as soon as possible.

The Shamirpet and Medchal Metro corridors will originate from a common point, where a major junction will be established featuring modern amenities to accommodate future requirements, according to the Chief Minister.

He proposed that the junction be designed in such a way that residents of nearby areas would not need to travel to the city for various services, ensuring that all necessary facilities are accessible in that location.

Officials were tasked with developing a comprehensive plan for the junction's development.

Additionally, the Chief Minister mandated the construction of radial roads by Hyderabad Growth Corridor Ltd (HGCL).

Participating in the review meeting were the Chief Minister's Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, State Government Advisor (Infrastructure) Srinivasa Raju, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Ajith Reddy, Municipal Commissioner and Urban Development Department Principal Secretary Dana Kishore, Hyderabad Metro Rail MD N.V.S. Reddy, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, Flagship Programmes Commissioner Shashanka, and others.
