Hyderabad/New Delhi, March 4 (NationPress) Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy convened with Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Prahlad Joshi on Tuesday, advocating for the release of long-overdue funds amounting to Rs.1,981 crore owed to the state.

Joined by Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Chief Minister engaged in discussions with the Union Minister in the national capital, addressing various state-specific concerns.

They presented a petition demanding the disbursement of outstanding dues of Rs 1,468.94 crore for rice supplied to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) during the 2014-15 Kharif season.

The officials highlighted that these pending dues stem from the additional levy collection, which was absorbed by the state government.

The CM and the State Minister also urged the Union Minister to clear the arrears of Rs 343.27 crore for rice supplied from May 2021 to March 2022 and in April 2022 under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.

Additionally, the Chief Minister requested the release of outstanding dues of Rs 79.09 crore for rice distribution under the Non-NFSA (National Food Security Act) from June 2021 to April 2022. He appealed for an extension of the CMR (Custom Milling Rice) period by at least four months rather than just one to prevent disruptions in supply.

Revanth Reddy also called on Prahlad Joshi, who also serves as the Union Minister for Renewable Energy, to reinstate the 4,000 MW solar power generation permit that was previously awarded to Telangana under the PM Kusum scheme.

With the state government actively promoting women's self-help groups to venture into solar power generation, the CM remarked that although Telangana had initially received a 4,000 MW permit, it was subsequently reduced to 1,000 MW.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the Union Minister responded favorably to the requests made by CM Revanth Reddy and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy regarding the settlement of pending dues and the approval of 4,000 MW.

CMO Secretary Manikraj, State Civil Supplies Commissioner D.S. Chauhan, and Telangana Bhavan Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal were also in attendance.
