The counting personnel completed the sorting of 2.10 lakh votes, with another 40,000 votes still being sorted.
Among the sorted votes, 1.89 lakh votes were verified as valid. A total of 21,000 votes were marked invalid, primarily due to incorrect markings on the ballot papers.

A cumulative total of 2,50,106 voters participated in the Graduates' MLC elections on February 27, impacting the prospects of 56 candidates.
Several candidates attributed the high number of invalid votes to a lack of adequate awareness among voters regarding the preferential voting system.
The counting of first-choice votes will commence once the sorting process concludes. Candidates who receive more than 50 percent of first preference votes will be declared elected. If no candidates win in the first round, the counting of second preference votes will proceed.
