During a video conference with District Collectors, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy made this announcement while assessing the ongoing situation.
He instructed Collectors to remain vigilant and implement measures aimed at preventing loss of life and property, particularly focusing on low-lying and flood-prone areas.
The minister urged Collectors to revoke leaves for all officials and summon those currently on leave.
Given the forecast for heavy rain over the next three days, he emphasized the need for comprehensive measures to avoid inconveniences for residents.
The minister, along with Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, inquired about the conditions in the districts.
In Greater Hyderabad, they called for coordinated efforts among the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Hyderabad Metro Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), and the Traffic Department.
Persistent heavy rainfall has been affecting parts of Telangana due to a low-pressure system, disrupting daily life and impairing road connectivity to certain villages.
Many rivulets, lakes, and ponds have overflowed as a result of the relentless rains, flooding low-lying regions.
This low-pressure system has particularly impacted South Telangana, with several areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Districts such as Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Adilabad, Khammam, and Rangareddy have been receiving significant rainfall since the previous night.
Maddukur in Bhadradri Kothagudem district recorded the highest rainfall at 12.7 cm, followed closely by 12.6 cm in Jadcherla (Mahabubnagar) and 12.4 cm in Pargi (Vikarabad).
Low-lying neighborhoods in Kodad town (Suryapet district) have been submerged, while agricultural fields have transformed into lakes.
A temple was engulfed by floodwaters from the Kagna rivulet in Bashirabad mandal (Vikarabad district), including the Mahadeva Lingeshwaraswami Temple in Jivangi village.
A school bus also got trapped in the floods, but fortunately, the children and the driver were able to escape safely with assistance from local residents.
