New Delhi, Jan 24 (NationPress) The implementation of production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes in the telecom industry has successfully led to the creation of 25,000 manufacturing jobs and has facilitated exports amounting to Rs 13,000 crore, stated Dr Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, the Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, on Saturday.
While addressing a Rozgar Mela in Shivagangai, Tamil Nadu, the minister emphasized that this event is not merely about distributing appointment letters, but is focused on fostering opportunities, dignity, and building a stronger nation.
He remarked, “The Rozgar Mela illustrates India’s belief in its youth and its dedication to inclusive national growth,” adding that as India progresses, it does so collectively, ensuring that growth is coupled with dignity and opportunities for everyone.
Dr Chandra Sekhar highlighted that initiatives like ‘Skill India’, ‘Make in India’, and ‘Digital India’ have established a solid groundwork for the youth to excel in both traditional and contemporary sectors.
The Rozgar Mela is considered another stride towards empowering the youth of India.
He characterized Tamil Nadu as a center of talent and innovation, noting that Chennai accounts for over 10 percent of India’s automobile exports, while the IT sector employs more than six lakh professionals.
He also mentioned that skill development and entrepreneurship initiatives have empowered countless individuals to turn their aspirations into viable livelihoods, with the Rozgar Mela building upon this legacy.
Furthermore, he disclosed that over 10 lakh appointment letters have been distributed nationwide via the Rozgar Mela initiative, with 51,000 jobs being offered as part of the current program.
He encouraged job seekers to capitalize on the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to India’s vision of becoming a global powerhouse.
Calling upon newly-appointed candidates to contribute towards realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, the Minister emphasized the significance of transparency, speed, and empathy in governance.
