Chennai, July 12 (NationPress) A wave of joy washed over Chennai on Saturday as the 16th iteration of the Centre’s visionary Rozgar Mela program led to the distribution of appointment letters to numerous newly hired candidates.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the country through a virtual platform, distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to chosen candidates across 47 locations. The celebration in Chennai took place at the ICF campus in Perambur, transforming the site into a center of festivity and aspiration.
In Chennai specifically, 164 appointment letters were issued for the Railways, 71 for the Finance Department, 5 for the Postal Department, and 11 for the Revenue Department. Union Minister L. Murugan personally delivered the letters, praising the recruits and urging them to dedicate themselves to serving the nation.
“This is not merely the distribution of letters, but the distribution of dreams,” he remarked.
Prime Minister Modi, addressing candidates nationwide via video link, underscored the government’s ongoing commitment to enhance employment opportunities.
“Our initiative to distribute appointment letters to youth in the Central Government is progressing. Today, more than 51,000 young individuals have received their letters. Through such efforts, millions of youth have attained permanent positions and are now playing a role in nation-building,” he stated.

Ranjini, one of the new appointees in Chennai, radiated happiness as she held her letter. “I received my appointment letter at the 16th Rozgar Mela. I want to express my gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and the Central government for this initiative. We are eager about our future endeavors,” she shared with IANS.
Aman Solanki, another recruit, was equally overjoyed.
“I am grateful to the government for this opportunity. I am excited to receive my joining letter. It’s a remarkable initiative by the PM Modi government for the youth,” he expressed.
The national employment drive also took place concurrently in cities such as Delhi, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Patna, highlighting the government’s dedication to transparent and efficient recruitment.
