The inaugural Rozgar Mela took place on October 22, 2022, where over 75,000 recruits received their appointment letters.
During the second edition on November 22, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually distributed around 71,000 appointment letters to new recruits in more than 45 cities.
On Saturday, during the 16th Rozgar Mela, PM Modi presented over 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various government departments and organizations.
The Rozgar Mela was held at 47 locations across the country, facilitating young individuals to join different Central Government Ministries and Departments.
New hires have joined the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Labour and Employment, among others.
This initiative aligns with the government’s ongoing mission to enhance job opportunities and fortify the workforce across the nation.
“The Rozgar Melas primarily target youth aged 18 to 35, catering to a variety of academic backgrounds, including those who have completed 8th, 10th, and 12th grades, alongside ITI, Diploma, and Graduate degrees. This includes trained and certified candidates who meet the National Skills Qualifications Framework standards,” stated the government.
Job seekers are mobilized and informed about the Rozgar Mela through various platforms, such as print advertisements, bulk SMS, social media, and workshops at colleges and universities in the districts surrounding the event.
Besides job placements, Rozgar Melas offer various additional activities, including counseling sessions for job seekers and their parents; Kaushal Melas for youth registration in new skill development training programs (PMKK/PMKVY); Mudra Loan Facilitation Counters; and skill exhibitions where SSCs display their training models, equipment, and job roles.
The Rozgar Mela serves as a vital government initiative aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for youth across India. It connects job seekers directly with employers, helping tackle the issue of unemployment.
