PM Modi Announces Issuance of Nearly 1 Million Job Letters Under Rozgar Mela Since 2022

New Delhi, Dec 23 (NationPress) Over the past 18 months, approximately 1 million permanent positions in the government sector have been made available, marking a significant achievement, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday while participating in the 14th iteration of Rozgar Mela.
During the distribution of 71,000 job offers, PM Modi emphasized that these job fairs are integral to the government's mission to ensure employment is provided with utmost transparency. To date, 925,000 job letters have been distributed across 14 editions of Rozgar Mela.
This edition of Rozgar Mela occurred at 45 locations nationwide, facilitating recruitments for various ministries and departments of the Central Government.
On October 22, 2022, PM Modi inaugurated Rozgar Mela, aiming to recruit 1 million personnel, with the inaugural event seeing appointment letters given to 75,000 new recruits.
Rozgar Mela stands as a pivotal initiative by the Government to boost employment for the youth throughout India. By fostering direct links between job seekers and employers, it not only tackles the urgent issue of unemployment but also empowers individuals to aid in national growth.
In the 13th edition of Rozgar Mela on October 29, PM Modi distributed 51,000 appointment letters. At that event, the Prime Minister noted that the government was generating new avenues to facilitate overseas job opportunities for Indian youth.
Referring to Germany’s recently unveiled Skilled Labour Strategy for India, PM Modi revealed that Germany has raised the annual number of visas available for skilled Indian youth from 20,000 to 90,000. He remarked that this change would greatly benefit India’s youth.
PM Modi also mentioned that in recent years, India has forged migration and employment agreements with 21 countries, including Japan, Australia, France, Germany, Mauritius, Israel, the UK, Italy, and various Gulf nations.
During the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th editions of Rozgar Mela, a total of 71,000 appointment letters were distributed each time. In the 6th (June 13) and 7th editions (July 22), 70,000 letters were handed out by the Prime Minister.
In the 8th edition, held on August 28, 2023, 51,000 job letters were awarded. The 9th, 10th, and 11th editions, conducted earlier last year, also saw 51,000 appointment letters distributed in each.
The 12th Rozgar Mela, held on February 12, witnessed the highest distribution of 100,000 appointment letters.
During this event, the PM underscored the Budget announcement regarding approximately 1 crore rooftop solar plants, stating that this initiative would generate numerous new jobs.
