New Delhi, July 12 (NationPress) A wave of jubilation and pride swept through India on Saturday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually handed out over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela.

With emotions running high, recruits from various regions of the country expressed deep gratitude to the Prime Minister, describing the initiative as a transformative moment.

This employment initiative, taking place at 47 locations nationwide, aims to offer the youth stable government jobs, thereby enhancing the public workforce in crucial sectors like Railways, Finance, Home Affairs, Postal Services, and Health.

The beneficiaries, many hailing from humble backgrounds, expressed their overwhelming joy, struggling to articulate the significance of this opportunity.

In West Bengal, the Rozgar Mela was hosted at the BC Roy Auditorium, Sealdah, under the Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division. The event was graced by Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar, General Manager Milind K Deouskar, and other senior officials.

During the gathering, Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar remarked, “The Rozgar Mela is a pivotal stride towards a self-reliant India. It fosters employment, skill enhancement, and economic progress. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, nearly 10 lakh government jobs have been generated since the inaugural Rozgar Mela.”

A total of 215 appointment letters were distributed in Kolkata, including one for a Divyangjan candidate. The recipients expressed their excitement and gratitude for the government’s relentless efforts towards empowering youth.

Similarly, in West Midnapore, a total of 155 newly appointed candidates from various Indian Railways departments received their appointment letters at a Rozgar Mela event held at the Supervisor Training Centre in Kharagpur on Saturday.

The event in Kharagpur was attended by local MLA Hiranmoy Chatterjee, DRM RK Chowdhury, and other senior Indian Railways officials, who personally distributed the letters and congratulated the new appointees for embarking on their public service careers.

In Karnataka's Hubballi, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi distributed appointment letters at an event organized by South Western Railway. He highlighted the government's goal of creating 10 lakh jobs over the next decade, sharing that 7.72 lakh appointment letters have already been issued, with more opportunities on the horizon.

“India is a youthful nation with a population nearing 140 crore. With such a vast youth demographic, we can bolster our economy even further. Today, India ranks as the world’s fourth-largest economy,” he stated.

Reflecting on the past decade's achievements, Joshi mentioned that 40,000 kilometers of railway tracks have been electrified and that around 80 crore individuals are benefitting from free rations under various welfare initiatives. He also praised the increasing participation of women in sectors such as the Indian Air Force, where they are now piloting fighter jets.

At the ICF campus in Perambur, Chennai, the Rozgar Mela radiated optimism and pride. Union Minister L Murugan distributed appointment letters to recruits joining different departments, including Railways, Finance, Revenue, and Postal Services.

Out of the total 51,000 letters issued nationwide, 164 were for Railway roles, 71 for Finance, 11 for Revenue, and five for Postal Services in Chennai alone.

Hadni, a young recruit selected for the Postal Department, expressed her excitement: “I’m thrilled to have secured this job. This initiative presents a fantastic opportunity for young people like me. My heartfelt thanks to PM Modi for making this possible.”

In Mumbai, Union Minister Piyush Goyal spearheaded the Rozgar Mela event at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), distributing appointment letters and personally congratulating the new employees. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as hundreds of hopeful candidates and their families gathered.
