Telugu Film Industry Leaders Confer with Telangana Chief Minister Amidst Stampede Controversy

Hyderabad, Dec 26 (NationPress) Members of the Telugu film industry convened with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday to tackle pertinent film industry-related issues.

The delegation, led by Telangana State Film Development Corporation chairman and prominent producer Dil Raju, visited the Chief Minister at the Police Command and Control Room situated in Banjara Hills.

This meeting holds particular importance following the controversy surrounding a stampede that occurred during the premiere of Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' earlier this month, which resulted in the tragic death of a woman and left her son in critical condition.

Among the industry figures present were Allu Arjun's father and producer Allu Arvind, renowned actors Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, veteran actor Murali Mohan, and filmmakers including Raghavendra Rao, C. Kalyan, BVN Prasad, Vamshi Paidipally, Trivikram, Naveen, Harish Shankar, Koratala Siva, and Boyapati Srinu.

Also in attendance were Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister for Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Home Secretary Ravi Gupta, Director General of Police Jitender, and various other officials.

Dil Raju previously stated that the meeting was organized on behalf of the Film Development Corporation.

He mentioned that actors, directors, and producers would be included in the delegation. "We have communicated to everyone. Those who are in the vicinity will participate in the meeting," he noted.

Dil Raju expressed his intent to serve as a liaison between the film industry and the government, adding, "The meeting will cover issues concerning the film sector."

When questioned about whether the stampede incident and the government's decision against allowing benefit shows and raising cinema ticket prices for new releases would be addressed, he indicated that more information would emerge post-meeting.

Just a day prior to this meeting, Allu Arjun, Mythri Movies, and director Sukumar generously contributed Rs 2 crore to the family of Revati, who lost her life in the stampede. Her son, Sri Tej, who was severely injured, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Allu Arvind handed over the cheque of Rs 2 crore to Dil Raju, who committed to ensuring that the funds are utilized for the well-being of the boy, his sister, and their father.
