Telugu Film Delegation Engages with Telangana Chief Minister Amid Stampede Concerns

Hyderabad, Dec 26 (NationPress) A group of representatives from the Telugu film industry met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday to deliberate on the issues confronting the film sector.

The delegation, comprising approximately 50 members and led by Telangana State Film Development Corporation chairman and renowned producer Dil Raju, visited the Chief Minister at the Police Command and Control Room located in Banjara Hills.

This meeting, which extended over an hour, gained significance following a tragic stampede that occurred at a theater during the premiere of Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' earlier this month, resulting in the death of a woman and her son's critical injuries, alongside subsequent actions including the actor's arrest.

The gathering included 21 producers, 13 directors, and 11 actors, who discussed vital topics such as increasing cinema ticket prices, benefit shows, and Gaddar awards.

While affirming the government's support for the film sector, the Chief Minister underscored that there would be no compromise on law and order. He reiterated that benefit shows would not be allowed and that the government would take a strong stance against 'bouncers', the private security personnel employed by stars.

The Chief Minister encouraged the film industry to contribute to the advancement of Telangana and urged the representatives to engage in governmental initiatives aimed at raising awareness about drug abuse and ensuring women's safety.

Among the producers in attendance were Allu Arvind, Suresh Babu, K. L. Narayana, Damodar, S. Ravi Kishore, Naga Babu, S. Naga Vamsi, Kiran, D.V.V. Danayya, C. Kalyan, Sudhakar Reddy, Ramesh Prasad, U.V. Vamsi, and Bharat Bhushan.

Notable attendees included Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister for Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Home Secretary Ravi Gupta, Director General of Police Jitender, and other officials.

On the eve of the meeting, Allu Arjun, along with Mythri Movies and director Sukumar, donated Rs 2 crore to the family of Revati, who lost her life in the stampede. Her son, Sri Tej, who suffered critical injuries, is currently receiving treatment.
