Patna, Feb 27 (NationPress) Tensions have escalated in Parmanandpur village in Bihar after unknown vandals damaged the idols of Lord Shiva and Lord Kartikeya, as reported by an official on Thursday.

The official mentioned that the incident likely occurred on the night of Maha Shivratri on Wednesday, inciting fury among local residents.

According to Ram Krishna, the SDPO of Sadar range, villagers found the desecrated idols early Thursday morning.

Hundreds of locals took to the streets in protest, blocking roads, setting fire to tires, and demanding severe penalties for those responsible.

Villagers suspect that individuals from a certain community may be involved in this act. However, no concrete evidence has been uncovered as of yet.

Due to the absence of CCTV cameras at the village temple, tracing the culprits has proven challenging. To avert communal strife, district police have dispatched extra forces to the area.

The administration has summoned experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and fingerprint analysts to investigate the site and gather evidence.

Ram Krishna reassured residents that advanced technical and forensic techniques would be utilized to pinpoint the offenders and deliver justice.

“We are dedicated to preserving law and order. Anyone found guilty will face consequences,” he affirmed.

Given the sensitive nature of this incident, authorities have urged residents to remain calm and permit the police to carry out a comprehensive investigation.

District Magistrate Richie Pandey visited the location, encouraging residents to maintain peace during the ongoing investigation.

In related news from the Munger district, another incident stirred controversy during a Shivratri procession hosted by Bajrang Dal on Wednesday.

A large procession featuring around 50 tableaux traversed the city before concluding at the Mankeshwar Nath Mahadev Temple.

While most tableaux showcased Hindu deities, one tableau allegedly illustrated ‘love jihad’ with unsettling visuals, including graphic representations of supposed atrocities against Hindu girls, containing messages aimed at a specific community.

Upon inquiry, the SHO of Kotwali police station in Munger district stated that there is no communal unrest in the area. "Everything is peaceful here," he insisted.
