Mumbai, Oct 27 (NationPress) Maharashtra Revenue Minister and former state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule responded sharply to Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray, stating that someone who calls others an anaconda should reflect on their own actions, as he is merely a python at home, criticizing the hard work of others.
“Uddhav Thackeray is filled with frustration and despair. His mental state is deteriorating following his party's significant loss in the assembly elections. In this troubled mindset, he has once again unleashed harsh words today,” Bawankule remarked after Thackeray criticized the BJP, the Prime Minister, and the Home Minister during his speech at the party’s Nirdhar rally, linking them to allegations of vote theft and questioning their commitment to Hindutva.
He continued, stating that Home Minister Amit Shah travels nationwide, establishing organizations, energizing politics, and making history through the abrogation of Article 370.
“In contrast, Uddhav Thackeray remains at home, focused solely on disparaging PM Modi and Amit Shah. This python has consumed its own party, devoured its soldiers, and overshadowed the Hindutva ideology championed by the late Balasaheb Thackeray. For 25 years, it has dominated Mumbai, and now this python casts blame on others,” Bawankule expressed.
He further criticized Thackeray for sinking to low levels in his attacks.
“We cannot stoop to such depths. He knows that his party is on the verge of defeat in the upcoming local self-government elections; hence, to maintain his relevance, he resorts to such irrational criticism,” he remarked.
Bawankule also claimed that even his own party workers are weary of his controversial politics, predicting a time when he will reflect and find no support around him.
Meanwhile, state BJP chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhye also targeted Thackeray. In a post on X, Upadhye questioned, “Did he provide a record of development works executed during his tenure in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation? Answer - No. Did he offer any vision for Mumbai's progress? Answer - No. Did he blame the BJP and its leaders? Answer - Yes. Did he accuse the BJP of plotting to divide Mumbai? Answer - Yes. The discourse of someone who has already lost a battle is what Uddhav Thackeray's remarks today amounted to.”
Earlier, Thackeray, without explicitly naming PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, asserted that two businessmen are eyeing Mumbai, vowing that his party would thwart their attempts to seize control.
