New Delhi, April 20 (NationPress) BJP MP Anurag Thakur praised the significant contributions of Samskrita Bharati during the inauguration of its central office in Delhi, referring to its achievements over the last four decades as "commendable and noteworthy".

Speaking to reporters, Thakur remarked, "Samskrita Bharati has performed remarkable and praiseworthy work nationwide over the past 40 years. It deserves even more recognition than it currently receives... I am confident that Samskrita Bharati will extend its initiatives to every village. This will provide those knowledgeable in Sanskrit with better opportunities to deepen their understanding, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Samskrita Bharati."

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the critical role of learning Sanskrit, calling it the "very essence" of Indian culture and integral to the nation’s civilizational continuity.

Akhil Bhartiya Prachar Pramukh Shreesh Deo Pujari emphasized the increasing societal and governmental support for Sanskrit, stating, "There is a growing backing from both the community and various levels of government—state and central. This is fostering an environment conducive to direct learning, especially for the younger generation, who often lack life goals after establishing their careers. Such aspirations can only be fulfilled through the study of Sanskrit, scriptures, and subhashitas; otherwise, life may become confined to mere consumption and enjoyment."

Dinesh Chandra, a leader and International Patron of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, made a strong case for elevating Sanskrit’s status, suggesting, "Sanskrit should be recognized as the national language. The name Indraprastha, forged through the labor of the Pandavas, should be reconsidered in that context..."

He further added, "Sanskrit is regarded as the world’s original language. Numerous Indian and international languages have their roots in Sanskrit... Samskrita Bharati is dedicated to promoting Sanskrit on a global scale. From foundational texts like the Vedas to various classical works, invaluable knowledge is preserved in Sanskrit."

Academic leaders also underscored the importance of Sanskrit within educational frameworks. Vice Chancellor of SLBS National Sanskrit University, Murli Manohar Pathak, stated, "The role of Sanskrit in education is crucial because while we pursue material advancement, neglecting our ethical values jeopardizes human security..."

In addition, Vice Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, Srinivas Varkhedi, remarked, "Sanskrit transcends being merely a language; it serves as a bridge and source of our knowledge heritage. In today’s knowledge-driven era, the significance of Sanskrit is paramount..."

The inauguration served as a testament to the ongoing efforts to promote Sanskrit not just as a classical heritage but as a dynamic and relevant language for future generations.

Earlier that day, the RSS chief inaugurated the central office of Samskrita Bharati in Delhi, an organization committed to promoting Sanskrit as a living and widely utilized language. The event highlighted the continuing efforts to encourage Sanskrit as a contemporary medium of communication.
