The Governor participated in the grand finale of the 25th Bharat Rang Mahotsav, India’s esteemed International Theatre Festival, hosted at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre in Itanagar.
He experienced the powerful theatrical presentation ‘Nang Sipsong’, which left a profound impact on the audience and concluded the festival on a high note.
The Governor remarked that the Bharat Rang Mahotsav serves as an inspiring platform that embodies the nation's dreams and collective spirit. By breaking down barriers of language, region, and background, the festival unites individuals through shared cultural experiences.
He highlighted its crucial role in fostering young talent by offering avenues for learning, creative expression, encouragement, and valuable exposure.
Lt. General Parnaik (Retd.) urged all stakeholders to actively engage in promoting the essence of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and the principles of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.
He called on the National School of Drama to extend its outreach into every part of the state, including remote villages, asserting that theatre possesses the ability to enhance unity amidst diversity and promote social harmony.
He expressed optimism that through impactful performances, the Bharat Rang Mahotsav would continue to spotlight the daily challenges faced by ordinary individuals while providing insightful perspectives and solutions.
The Governor commended Chittaranjan Tripathi, Director of the National School of Drama, along with his entire team, for their unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions to the festival's success. The gathering also featured addresses from State Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, State Minister for Art and Culture Dasanglu Pul, Chief Secretary Manish Gupta, and the Director of the National School of Drama, New Delhi, who all emphasized the importance of theatre in fostering creativity, dialogue, and cultural understanding.
This five-day convergence of theatre and cultural expression, which began on January 30, 2026, was organized by the National School of Drama in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
According to Riken Ngomle, Assistant Professor at the National School of Drama, during the Mahotsav, five plays were showcased, involving hundreds of artists from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, and Karnataka.
