Itanagar, Feb 4 (NationPress) The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lieutenant General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), conveyed heartfelt thanks to the Central Government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for his visionary direction and unwavering backing in catalyzing the state's transformation and progress.

In his address during the fifth session of the eighth state Assembly, the Governor remarked that the Prime Minister's recent visit on September 22, 2025, where development initiatives worth over Rs 5,100 crore were launched, showcases the Centre's dedicated commitment to the advancement of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Governor also pointed out the inauguration of the GST Bachat Utsav, aimed at fostering transparent, citizen-oriented governance and enhancing the business ecosystem.

Since 2014, the state's share of Central taxes has surpassed Rs 1 lakh crore, reflecting the robust partnership between the Centre and state in fostering a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future, as stated by Governor Parnaik.

He noted that meeting post the Golden Jubilee of the state Assembly is a significant occasion to celebrate its rich legacy by maintaining the dignity of the House and reinforcing responsible, people-centric governance.

Reiterating the state government's vision for a Viksit Arunachal Pradesh, Governor Parnaik stated that as the Assembly gathers for its first session this year, the state is at a juncture of renewed confidence and meaningful introspection.

This is an opportune moment to assess the advancements made and to reaffirm our shared determination to construct a prosperous, inclusive, and self-sufficient Arunachal, in line with the national objective of 'Viksit Bharat', he further added.

The Governor stressed that this vision seeks to empower youth through education and job opportunities, enable women to foster social and economic transformation, ensure development benefits every community, and allow cultural heritage to flourish alongside modern advancements, encapsulating the essence of 'Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi'.

He emphasized the 'Panch Pratigyas' (five commitments) put forth by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu as a clear guideline towards Viksit Arunachal and Viksit Bharat@2047.

These five commitments focus on placing youth and human capital at the core of development; enhancing livelihoods and rural self-reliance; ensuring growth in harmony with nature; spearheading green energy and hydropower-driven transformation; and supporting sustainable tourism that maintains identity while generating jobs.

Governor Parnaik articulated that collectively, the 'Panch Pratigyas' symbolize a united pledge for the future, one that empowers individuals, honors nature, bolsters the economy, and guarantees inclusive and sustainable advancement for Arunachal Pradesh.

He pointed out that the recent expressions of public mandates via local self-governance signify a growing trust among citizens in democratic institutions and their eagerness to actively influence their own development.

He discussed a micro-development strategy that centers on communities, backed by consistent investments in infrastructure and connectivity to close gaps and bring opportunities nearer to the populace.

The Governor also underscored the necessity to enhance livelihoods by supporting artisans, farmers, and the rural economy, while leveraging green energy and hydropower as catalysts for sustainable change.

In advocating for balanced growth, Governor Parnaik highlighted the promotion of sustainable tourism and a dynamic cultural economy grounded in indigenous traditions, alongside a keen focus on indigenous affairs, effective governance, public safety, and robust institutional capacities, all of which collectively form the foundation of a resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking Arunachal Pradesh.
