Bhopal, Feb 19 (NationPress) In an encounter in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, three female Naxalites lost their lives. The Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav, acknowledged the police force's efforts in this operation.
Authorities recovered an INSAS rifle, an SLR rifle, and a .303 rifle from the deceased.
A combined operation involving the Balaghat Hawkforce and district police led to this accomplishment. Some Naxalites sustained injuries during the encounter but managed to escape into the thick forest.
Through a post on his X handle, CM Yadav expressed his appreciation for the forces and stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah is spearheading a campaign aimed at eradicating Maoism from India by March 31, 2026. His government is also diligently contributing to this mission.
“Today, three female Naxalites have been killed in Balaghat, and weapons have been recovered from them. The police’s engagement with other Naxalites continues. Congratulations to Madhya Pradesh Police for this vital achievement in combating Naxalism in the state,” the Chief Minister remarked in a post on X in Hindi.
The confrontation occurred near the Raunda Forest Camp within the Soopkhar Forest Range of Thana Gadhi. In addition to weapons, various daily-use items were also seized.
Currently, over 12 teams, including Hawkforce, CRPF, Cobra, and District Police Force, are actively searching for the fleeing Naxalites.
The anti-Naxal operations by Madhya Pradesh Police have been aggressively ongoing for the past two months.
Earlier, on February 9, at least 31 Maoists, which included 11 women, along with two security personnel were killed in an encounter at Indravati National Park in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district.
