Bhopal, June 14 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav praised the state police on Saturday for their effective anti-Maoist operation in the Balaghat district, where four Maoists were neutralized.

The Chief Minister commended the bravery and vigilance of the security forces, which led to the neutralization of four Maoists, including three women, during an encounter on the same day.

Chief Minister Yadav reaffirmed the state government's commitment to eradicate Naxalism (Maoism) from Madhya Pradesh by March 2026.

He stated that the state government is rewarding police officers who actively engage in anti-Maoist missions.

Additionally, Chief Minister Yadav recalled a recent ceremony in Balaghat where security personnel who successfully led missions against Maoists were honored and promoted.

"The state police are committed to this mission. Maoists must surrender or face elimination. Their actions pose a threat to our tribal communities," the Chief Minister remarked.

The encounter was initiated based on intelligence regarding the Maoists' presence in the Pachama Dadar-Kathiria forest area, located under the jurisdiction of the Roopjhar police station and Sonewani outpost.

Following these inputs, the Hawk Force, district police, and CRPF conducted a coordinated cordon and search operation from the night of June 13 to 14.

During the mission, Maoists opened fire indiscriminately, attempting to attack the security forces and steal their weapons.

A senior police officer involved in the anti-Maoist operations confirmed to IANS, "Three female and one male Maoist were neutralized in the encounter."

This achievement resulted from a collaborative effort by the Hawk Force and local police, the officer added.

Further details are pending, as the operation is still ongoing, and the number of neutralized Maoists may rise.

"The bodies of the three female Maoists have been recovered, but identification is yet to be finalized. The recovery of the other body is also in process," the officer stated.
