Bengaluru, Sep 12 (NationPress) Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah conveyed his heartfelt condolences on Friday regarding the unfortunate event where a truck crashed into the Ganesh Visarjan procession, claiming the lives of eight individuals. Additionally, over 20 people sustained injuries due to this incident.
In a message posted on X, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed: "It is profoundly distressing to learn that a lorry drove into participants of the Ganesh Visarjan procession in Hassan, leading to tragic fatalities and numerous serious injuries."
"I pray for the souls of the departed to find peace and for the injured to heal swiftly. Our government will provide a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to each family of the deceased, in addition to covering the medical costs for the injured. This is a deeply sorrowful tragedy, and we must unite in support of the affected families," CM Siddaramaiah remarked.
Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda stated: "The heartbreaking incident in Mosale Hosahalli village of Hassan district, where eight lives were lost and several others were gravely injured, is truly devastating."

The driver, Bhuvanesh, a local, has been hospitalized after being pulled from the vehicle and assaulted by bystanders. Preliminary investigations suggest that speeding and negligent driving led to this tragic event.
