Patna, July 17 (NationPress) A woman tragically lost her life at a private hospital in Bihar's Siwan shortly after delivering twins. Her family has alleged that her death was due to negligence on the part of the hospital staff, claiming that the doctors involved are now missing.
The relatives of the deceased have pointed fingers at Dr Shweta Rani and Metro Hospital, asserting that carelessness and inadequate medical attention led to the unfortunate demise.
The distraught family members spent the night at the hospital, demanding justice and accountability for the premature loss.
Upon being alerted, officers from the Mahadeva police station arrived at Metro Hospital and initiated an investigation into the claims made by the family.
According to the family, after the woman passed away during delivery, the hospital staff arranged for a private ambulance to transfer her to another facility.
The ambulance driver reportedly left the body in the vehicle for almost two hours. It was only after the family began protesting at the hospital that he returned with the body.
Family members have indicated that the woman had been under the care of Dr Shweta Kumari at Metro Hospital for several months.
One of them recounted, "Dr Shweta assured us everything was fine. She told us to bring the patient on Wednesday for a normal delivery."
Trusting the doctor's words, the family admitted the woman for delivery.
Although she successfully gave birth to twins, she sadly passed away shortly thereafter. The family is now questioning how such a tragedy could have occurred at a facility that claimed to be fully equipped.
Frustration grew as hospital doctors, including Dr Shweta, were reportedly absent following the incident.
"Where are the doctors? What are we supposed to do now? We had hoped for these children. After 25 years of trying, she finally had twins but is no longer with us," lamented another devastated family member.
The investigation is ongoing, and the hospital administration has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
More details are awaited.
