Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Four Family Members in Dewas, MP

In Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, a heart-wrenching incident occurred on December 21 (NationPress) when a family of four, comprising two children, perished in a large fire that erupted at their residence early Saturday morning, as per police sources.
The incident took place in Nayapura town, located about 45 kilometers from Indore.
The blaze reportedly ignited on the ground floor of a two-story structure housing a dairy shop.
Dewas Superintendent of Police (SP) Puneet Gahlot stated that initial investigations suggest the fire was triggered by a short circuit on the ground floor. The flames quickly consumed the entire building, trapping the family on the upper level.
“Upon receiving the alert, fire-fighting teams from Dewas Municipal Corporation and local law enforcement hurried to the scene. Sadly, the fire spread swiftly, leaving the family with no chance to escape,” Gahlot informed the press.
The deceased have been identified as Dinesh (35), his spouse Gayatri (30), and their two children, Ishika (10) and Chirag (7). All four were asleep when the tragedy struck and were unable to survive the inferno.
Further findings indicated that the presence of flammable materials stored within the premises may have intensified the fire, rendering it uncontrollable.
“The precise cause of the blaze remains under investigation, and a report from the forensic science laboratory (FSL) will shed more light on the situation,” Gahlot added.
Authorities are working in conjunction with the Dewas district administration and municipal officials to ascertain the exact events that led to this calamity. “This situation is grave, and measures will be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future,” Gahlot assured.
Earlier in February, at least 11 individuals lost their lives, and more than 100 sustained injuries in an explosion at a firecracker factory in Harda district, Madhya Pradesh.
