Tragic Road Incidents Claim Four Lives and Injure Eight in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Jan 1 (NationPress) At least four individuals lost their lives and eight others sustained injuries in a series of road accidents in the outskirts of Bengaluru during the New Year celebrations, as reported by police on Wednesday.

In one incident, two individuals died instantly and six others were injured when the Innova car they were riding in flipped over near Janata Colony on Tavarekere Road, near Magadi on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The victims were returning to Bengaluru after having an early morning coffee at 3 a.m. following New Year festivities.

The deceased have been identified as 31-year-old Manju and 30-year-old Kiran. They were accompanied by six friends, all of whom suffered significant injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Magadi police are currently looking into the matter, and the reason for the accident is yet to be established.

In another tragic event, two young men lost their lives when their car, carrying friends, collided with a stationary canter vehicle near the Sathanur bus stop in Kanakapura taluk, close to Bengaluru.

The deceased have been identified as 41-year-old Niranjan and 43-year-old Vishwanath. Authorities stated that the victims were heading back to Bengaluru after a New Year party at a private resort. Their vehicle crashed into the parked canter, resulting in the immediate fatalities of Niranjan and Vishwanath, while two other passengers suffered grave injuries and are receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru. Sathanur police are investigating this incident.

In a separate incident in Hassan city, a man was stabbed by his lover outside a hotel where he was celebrating New Year, following a dispute.

The victim, 25-year-old Manukumar, from A. Guduganahalli village, was attacked by his lover, identified as Bhavani. According to police reports, both individuals are from the same village and had previously studied together.

Police mentioned that Manukumar was at the hotel on Tuesday night with friends when he disregarded calls from Bhavani. Upset by this, Bhavani showed up at the hotel and confronted him. A heated argument broke out, and when Manukumar’s friends tried to intervene, Bhavani pulled out a knife and stabbed him.

The victim is now being treated in the ICU of the district hospital. K.R. Puram police are currently investigating the incident.
