Tragic Road Mishap Claims Lives of Four Soldiers in J&K

Srinagar, Jan 4 (NationPress) Four army soldiers tragically lost their lives, and one was injured in a road mishap in the Bandipora district of J&K on Saturday. Preliminary reports indicate that an Army vehicle unexpectedly veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge in the Saderkoot Payeen area.
In total, five army personnel were injured in this incident. They were promptly transported to a nearby medical facility, where doctors confirmed that two of the soldiers were dead on arrival.
Three critically injured soldiers are being transferred to Srinagar for advanced medical care.
According to officials, “Two injured soldiers also succumbed to their injuries, raising the death toll from this road accident to four. The condition of one injured soldier remains critical,” doctors stated.
It is important to note that the army, police, and security forces in J&K have been maintaining a heightened state of vigilance following recent terrorist attacks after the peaceful and participative Lok Sabha and legislative assembly elections.
Intelligence reports suggest that the peaceful conduct of elections, observed by diplomats from various nations, has frustrated terrorist handlers across the border in Pakistan. These handlers have allegedly directed terrorists to give a final push to the 'dying terrorism' in the Union Territory.
Months ago, two terrorists, one a foreign national and the other local, indiscriminately fired upon a workers' camp in the Gagangir area of Ganderbal district on October 20, resulting in the deaths of seven civilians, including six non-local infrastructure workers and a local doctor.
On October 24, 2024, terrorists ambushed an army vehicle in the Botapathri region of the Gulmarg hill station, killing three army soldiers and two civilian porters.
Furthermore, on November 2, terrorists launched a grenade attack at the bustling Sunday Market near the tourist reception center (TRC) in Srinagar, resulting in the death of a 42-year-old woman, a mother of three, and injuring nine others.
In response to these heinous attacks, security forces have been vigorously conducting anti-terror operations under the explicit directives of Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha. The Lt. Governor has instructed the security forces to dismantle the terror ecosystem by targeting terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers.
