Srinagar, April 25 (NationPress) A terror associate was eliminated and two policemen sustained injuries on Friday during an active gun battle in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Authorities reported that security forces cordoned off Ajas village after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area.
“As the security personnel advanced towards the hiding terrorists, they opened fire, leading to an ongoing encounter. During this exchange, one terrorist associate was killed while two policemen were injured. The wounded officers were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention, where doctors confirmed their condition is stable,” officials stated.
The deceased terrorist associate has been identified as Altaf Lalli, linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group.
Additionally, an operation against terrorists continues in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district.
A soldier, identified as Havaldar Jhantu Ali Sheikh, was killed during this encounter on Thursday. Officials confirmed that operations are still underway in this region.
The extensive anti-terror operation in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam has now entered its fourth day as of Friday.
